Your 20s can be stressful. The early mornings, the constant 9 to 5 stimulation of the brain, the hustle bustle of every day activities, all the while discovering new things about yourself. This can be exhaustive not only mentally, but also physically. As a result, finding ways to de-stress without unnecessarily adding mental and physical stress can be difficult (this omits late nights, binge eating or any social interactions whatsoever, at least for me). So, I’ve turned to books.
Reading; an escape from harsh reality, a gateway to new lives, a time of self-reflection. A good book can make you feel humble. A good book can make you soar. A good book can change your life. A good book can make you feel like you belong.
But sometimes a good book can also make you stick out like a sore thumb. That’s how I feel most of the time.
